VIETNAM
We spent a month in Vietnam (mostly Hanoi) from February - March 2023. It’s a very chaotically beautiful city in which you feel like every day is a new adventure. There’s endless street food to try, plenty of cool cafés to visit, and something new going on around every corner! Honestly the only issue is not enough time.
Hanoi is a big city but surprisingly affordable! It’s very easy to get around by using the Grab app which you can use to book taxis (or a motorbike if you’re feeling brave)!
We stayed near Hoàn Kiếm Lake in the old town which also turns into a pedestrian-only night market every weekend.
Speaking of the weekends, it’s really easy to take short trips from Hanoi, and we used our weekends to visit three places: Mai Châu, Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh.
These trips can easily be organised by a travel agency in the city. They will come and pick you up and arrange all activities, food and accommodation. If you don't have time to plan the whole itinerary , using the travel agencies comes in really handy!
