Coffee is a big part of the culture for Vietnamese. Whatever time of day, you can always see people sitting on the street having all types of coffee. So naturally, I have a big list of recommendations for you!

Quán Cầm is hands down my favourite café in Hanoi. It’s located inside a residential building which feels very hidden when you try to find the entrance. I love how the sunlight shines through the windows here. A memorable moment was watching all of the locals vibing in here when the owner picked up his guitar and started singing live! Vibe 10/10!

Kosmos - They serve nice matcha and it’s a great spot to work with your laptop!

Tranquil Books & Coffee - 19 Cao Bá Quát

Another favourite cafe to enjoy some peace and quiet in the city!

Thaiyen Café - They serve different types of Vietnamese coffee and some infused versions of it too! If you like creamy coffee, definitely try the SAPA out!

Blackbird Coffee - Another laptop-friendly cafe which serves nice latte and they have a cute garden!

Cộng Cà Phê at 116 P. Cầu Gỗ, Hàng Trống, Hoàn Kiếm. There are quite a few of them in Hanoi, but the one by the lake has a view over Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square. Love their coconut coffee!

Tamai Hanoi - Located in a french style building. Every corner is filled with cool interior.

Hanoi Coffee Station - Another hidden spot with a sweet balcony. I love that you can sip your coffee while people watching from above.

HipHub Café - A very good spot with a great view of St Joseph Cathedral! It’s a flower shop on the ground floor, a small bookshop on the 1st and the café is from the 2nd floor upwards!
